Florida Newborn Screening Program

The Newborn Screening Program tests all babies born in Florida for metabolic, hematological, and genetic disorders. This screening is totally free to families and includes a referral to a regional specialist center for treatment, intervention, and counseling.

Parenting Resources

Regional Genetics/Endocrine Centers

Doctors and nurses at these centers specialize in treating infants with genetic and endocrine disorders. They will do follow-up testing, give you more information, answer questions and provide treatment.

Sickle Cell Disease Referral Centers

Doctors and nurses at the hematology/oncology centers specialize in treating Sickle Cell Disease and other blood conditions. They can provide follow-up information, answer your questions and treat your baby.
