Interagency Agreements Early Steps is a statewide system of coordinated, comprehensive supports and services. Interagency agreements and community collaboration are essential parts of the system. Interagency agreements establish predictable guidelines, spell out procedures to be followed, and clarify roles and responsibilities of individuals and agencies involved in the system. Effective agreements outline ways to share information, ideas and resources. They provide a clear plan that can help facilitate communication on a number of levels. Early Steps is responsible for developing linkages and maintaining formal interagency agreements with other state-level agencies that provide supports and services to infants, young children and their families. Please refer to IDEA Regulations, 34 C.F.R. 303.523 for specific requirements regarding Interagency Agreements.
