Child Protection Teams (CPT) Telemedicine Network Objectives
Telemedicine involves the use of telecommunications and information technology to provide clinical care to individuals at a distance and to transmit the information needed to provide that care.
- To reduce the number of children needing transportation for evaluation.
- To expedite child safety decisions.
- To create new role for nursing staff in evaluating cases.
- To increase training opportunities for local health care providers.
- To promote community partnerships for child protection.
- To monitor the number and success of court actions in cases where the medical evaluation is performed using telehealth technology.
