The Child Protection Team (CPT) in Pinellas County is one of six programs of Help A Child, Inc. a 26 year old non-profit agency. CPT provides assessment services to children and families referred by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office's Protection Investigation Division during child abuse and neglect investigations. As a multidisciplinary team comprised of specially trained pediatricians, registered nurse practitioners, child protection specialists, psychologists, and psychiatrists, CPT provides forensic medicals, psychosocials, psychologicals, and psychiatric evaluations. Additionally, specialized interviews, forensic interviews, multi-agency and multidisciplinary staffings add to the range of services provided by our CPT during these investigations. Our staff and consultants provide expert testimony in dependency and criminal courts and provide training in child abuse and neglect to medical providers, child protection workers and the community.
