Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida The Child Protection Team covers Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties. The CPT is part of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida. The Team began in 1981 and is funded by the Department of Health, the United Way of Lee County, the United Way of Hendry County, the United Way of Charlotte County, Lee County, Hendry County, Charlotte County, and the Bureau of Crimes Compensation. The Team works closely with the Department of Children and Families, law enforcement, and the State Attorney’s Office in determining if children have been abused or neglected. We also have other services available in our agency such as therapy for children that have been sexually, physically or emotionally abused; children that have witnessed or experienced domestic violence; adult survivors of incest; non-offending parents of children that have been abused; parenting, both in home and at the agency; a family resource center and after school program; a teen pregnancy prevention program; and adult and juvenile sexual offender programs.
