The Child Protection Team (CPT) is a program of The Children's Home Society of Florida, Gulf Coast Division, and consists of a group of professionals with specialized backgrounds who come together to deal with the dynamics of child abuse and neglect in Polk, Highlands and Hardee Counties. CPT coordinates services with the Department of Children and Families, Law Enforcement, other professional agencies and the community to assist with child victims and their families where abuse and neglect are concerned.

All of the services provided by CPT are for the specific purpose of assessment, education and referral. Those services include forensic interviews, specialized interviews, medical diagnosis, medical consultation, psychological evaluation, social assessments, staffing coordination, case coordination, expert court testimony, training, and community referral. Services are available on a 24-hour basis.
