Diabetes/Endocrine Program

This CMS regional diabetes/endocrine program provides services for children with chronic endocrine disorders, including diabetes. University medical centers around the State provide inpatient, outpatient, and outreach medical services for this children with diabetes and endocrine disorders. Pediatric endocrinologists utilize a multidisciplinary team approach to provide nutrition, psychosocial, nursing and other health care services. Additionally, these medical centers are responsible for providing confirmatory testing of newborns identified with abnormal newborn screening results for Congenital Hypothyroidism and Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia.
